In November 2020, the Danish Arts Council appointed Efterklang, Dreamers' Circus and Resonerende Rum as ‘special ensembles’. As part of the nomination, all three of them have chosen to return to their roots and give something back to the local communities that shaped them as young musicians.
The folk trio Dreamers' Circus has entered a collaboration with Roskilde Municipality, home to fiddler Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen. As ‘stadsmusikanter’ (officially appointed town musicians) they seek to strengthen and further develop Roskilde’s traditional folk/roots community.
The three childhood friends from Als in Southern Jutland who formed the group Efterklang will in the coming years have an extended collaboration with The Girls’ Choir of Southern Jutland, who involves the girls in the band's creative process and songwriting.
Musician and composer Lars Greve of Resonerende Rum (‘resonant spaces’) has entered into a collaboration with his hometown of Holstebro with the desire to extract methods and productions that can contribute to cultural formations both locally and across municipal and national borders.
In a conversation with Mikael Pass (music city supervisor, Roskilde Municipality) the three ensembles will talk about their local affiliations, artistic ambitions and current projects.
