Late one night in 2009, Nikolaj Busk pushed open the door of a bar in Copenhagen and chanced upon fiddle player Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen and cittern player Ale Carr, playing some traditional Nordic tunes. Spotting a piano in the corner of the room, Nikolaj joined the pair. Within minutes it became clear that there was an instant musical chemistry happening.

Since that first meeting, Dreamers’ Circus has toured widely, performing not just in their native Scandinavia but also throughout Europe and in Japan, Australia and North America.

At GRASP, you get the opportunity to give your mind and body a mid-day live music breather, diving into Dreamers’ Circus’ unique blend of traditional folk and roots music, jazz, pop and dreamy new Nordic tunes. Perhaps even accompanied with a little folk dancing.

Dreamers’ Circus have recently been appointed as ‘stadsmusikanter’ (officially appointed town musicians) in Roskilde and will for the next three years engage in a number of initiatives alongside the local music community of the city.

On Saturday 20 November, they will give an artist talk at GRASP, introducing their work in general and their Roskilde affiliation in particular.
